Our Story

Turning Point started the way a lot of good things do: with one person who couldn't leave well enough alone. Alex Knight got bitten by the craft beer bug and started brewing his own, chasing whatever the flavor of the week happened to be: a French saison, a lager, a pale ale, an IPA hopped into oblivion. That obsession earned him a brewing job at one of DFW's most respected craft breweries, where he learned what it actually takes to make consistently great beer, and where the idea of Turning Point started to take shape.

At the end of 2016, we put it all on the table. We campaigned, we raised capital, and we spent a lot of nights in local craft bars meeting the North Texas beer community face to face; the people who'd eventually become regulars. In August 2017 we signed the lease on our space in Bedford, and on March 17th, 2018, with a whole lot of help from friends and family, we opened our doors.

Turning Point Beer is more than a brewery. It's a lifestyle, a social house, and a place built to inspire and create. Come see what we mean.

The Taproom

Pull up a stool. Our Bedford taproom is where it all comes together; 14 rotating taps of everything from hazy IPAs to barrel-aged stouts, plus fresh cans to go.

There's always something going on. Catch the game on the big screens, settle in for comedy nights and live music, grab a board game with the table, or just post up with a pour and good company. Family-friendly, dog-friendly out on the patio, and always up to something.

Do you serve food?

We host rotating food trucks throughout the week; follow us on Instagram to see who's parked out front.

Is your taproom family-friendly?

Absolutely! We have plenty of board games to play as a family. We also offer various sodas and Gatorade, juice, and sodas for kids.

Is your taproom pet friendly?

We love pets, but due to health code, we can not have any animals in the taproom unless they are service dogs. Well-behaved dogs are allowed outside at the patio tables.

Where can I purchase your cans to go?

Our cans are available for purchase in our taproom. You can also find us on shelves at many other locations, including H-E-B, Central Market, Total Wine, Specs and many more! Don't see it on the shelves? Request it by name!

How often do you release new beers?

New beers most weeks, with barrel-aged releases every 4–8 weeks. Follow us on Instagram to catch them fresh.

Are any of your beers gluten-free?

Are any of your beers filtered?

We do not filter any of our beers at Turning Point. We are aiming for a natural, juicy flavor that sometimes can get lost in the filtering process.
